The Charming Brownstone Obama Lived in After College Is Now on the Market!

Category: DIY projects

The Brooklyn brownstone that Barack Obama called home in the '80s is now on the market, and though it may not be as glam as his new DC digs, we still can't help but appreciate the tiny details that make it as charming as can be. Located in New York's Park Slope neighborhood, the five-bedroom, three-bathroom (oh, and four-fireplace) apartment has been listed by Brown Harris Stevens for $4.295 million. The former POTUS lived there after attending Columbia University and before meeting Michelle, according to Apartment Therapy. At the time, the property was split into multiple apartments, with the former POTUS and his then-girlfriend residing on the top of three floors.

Though the brownstone boasts a double parlor with stained-glass windows and fancy china cabinet, by far our favorite part is the oversize private garden outside. With a vine-covered arbor and tons of plants, this feature (especially one of this size) is pretty rare for New York City residences located near a park like this one. Keep scrolling to see what the picture-perfect garden and the rest of the property look like IRL.
