Being exposed to luxury sheets is sort of like being introduced to fine wine - once you have a taste of the good stuff, it's really hard to go back to Two Buck Chuck. But unlike a pricey bottle of wine, quality sheets are the type of splurge that keeps on giving. Still, how do you know when you're buying a quality set? Since sheets with a low thread count but high-quality fiber can actually be better than sheets with a high thread count and low-quality fiber, you can't rely on what the packaging says. After being sent three different sets of luxury sheets from brands that pride themselves on competitive pricing, I decided to put them to the test. Would I really be able to tell the difference between these high-end sheets and the sets I purchased at discount stores like HomeGoods? Here's what I discovered.

Brooklinen

Brooklinen was started by a couple of people obsessed with the quest of finding ridiculously comfortable sheets that didn't cost a fortune. Sound familiar? They decided to launch an online company selling sheets made from the best factories around the world but figured out how to sell them at much lower prices. The answer: cutting out business costs like...

Famously unwed actors Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have found the secret to staying together long-term - but that doesn't mean they're committed to staying in their house forever. The couple listed their very private and very homey Pacific Palisades mansion for $7.25 million in Fall 2016 and Variety is exclusively reporting that they just sold it for $6.9 million. While it went a bit below asking, the A-listers still made money on the deal since they purchased the property in 2004 for just over $4 million before they, according to the listing, "thoughtfully" renovated it in 2006.

The 6,389-square-foot property has five bedrooms, including a double-level guest suite with soaring vaulted ceilings, and five bathrooms, so there's plenty of room for their adorable family to spend the night. When the talented brood isn't hanging out in the sun-drenched living room, cozying up in the spacious master suite - it has its own en suite fireplace, spa tub, and dry sauna - or cooking in the sprawling central kitchen, they can stay busy enjoying the pool and lush grounds outside.

The house is filled with spectacular skylights and hardwood floors, and the decor is a blend of worldly bohemian...

If you're a devotee of ABC's The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, then you probably know the swanky Tuscan-style estate the contestants live in as well as your own home - from the motor court where contestants are introduced stepping out of a limo to the den used as rose ceremony room where they're bid their farewell. What you might not know is that this house isn't a set or a vacation property, but an actual house that's inhabited by a family with four kids when the show isn't shooting!

The owner revealed to Us Weekly that twice a year he and his family vacates the home for 42 days so the show can shoot. All of his family's belongings are removed in a day and the home is then decorated for the upcoming season - which includes everything from full furnishings to new paint colors. When shooting wraps, they spend two weeks putting everything back to how it was.

Trulia estimates that this nearly 8,000-square-foot home, equipped with every luxury amenity (a theater room, professional chef's kitchen, infinity pool, canyon, and mountain views) situated on 10 pristine acres is worth $7.4 million. Take a look at the real house ahead to decide if it's worth your rose.

After buying our condo three years ago, my husband and I knew we'd eventually have to redo the guest bathroom in our hallway. It had a wobbly shower insert, dated finishes, and an impractical vanity without much storage. I hated going in there. So after a couple years of saving - and avoiding the room - we decided to bite the bullet and take on a small remodel project.

A before photo of my bathroom.

An after photo of my bathroom.

Creating a bathroom that reflected my own style was one of the main goals of the project. But I also wanted to stay in budget and avoid quirky updates that would decrease the value of my home. After doing some research, I discovered where I could save - and where I should splurge.

Don't just take my word for it. I caught up with HGTV star Scott McGillivray to check my work. After talking to him, I now know which updates gave me the most bang for my buck. McGillivray is the host of Income Property and wrote How to Add Value to Your Home. According to him, "next to the kitchen, the bathroom is the most important room in the house when it comes to resale."

That doesn't mean you have to spend more to make more. There are specific updates in the bathroom...

For more than half a century, Ikea has been refining its skills at creating high-quality Scandinavian-style home goods at a reasonable price. But this, their latest release, might be the most luxe looking - and highest value to customers - to date. In a press material for the new, 47-piece Stockholm collection, Ikea's high-end line, the company states, "quality can't be rushed. Natural, tactile materials and craftsmanship by skilled hands - these all take time to grow and perfect. This is the result."

The "this" Ikea refers to includes inviting sitting pieces like deep-seated velvet sofas, hand-blown glassware in the rich cobalt hue of frigid Nordic waters, and crafted rattan and light-wood pieces that bring the graceful essence of a Winter forest indoors. Oh yeah, and it's all still affordable. Check out the stunning collection for yourself ahead and then shop it at Ikea starting in April.

When their presidential term comes to end, most first families are eager to return a life of anonymity far away from Washington DC - but the Obamas aren't most first families. Their younger daughter, Sasha, has a couple years of school left. With this in mind, Politico has revealed that the Obamas plan on staying put in DC after inauguration day, at least until Sasha graduates.

They'll be trading the White House for a luxurious brick mansion in the upscale DC neighborhood of Kalorama, just two miles away. This makes President Obama the first president to stay in DC after his term since Woodrow Wilson in 1921. Kalorama is home to many embassies and ambassadors' residences, so it already has the security its new residents need.

The Obamas are reportedly renting the nine-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bathroom estate from former Clinton administration Press Secretary Joe Lockart and wife Giovanna Gray, who paid $5.3 million for it in 2014. The sprawling 8,200-square-foot home was built in 1928, and its traditional bones have been tastefully updated with modern fixtures and decor.

Look through the pictures below to see the luxurious amenities the first family will be enjoying come...

If you've ever dreamed of a Malibu beach house - or mansion, in this case - with modern architecture and 180-degree ocean and city views, you're probably imagining Jillian Michaels's property. The former Biggest Loser trainer put her oceanfront pad on the market last year for a whopping $9.75 million and then briefly as a rental for $40,000 per month. Well, if that was a bit out of your price range, then there's good news:

Variety is reporting that Jillian has just relisted the property at a slightly more reasonable price of $8.88 million. Located right on the sands of Las Flores Beach in Malibu, CA, the 3,157-square-foot beauty is seriously what Summer dreams are made of. The three-bedroom, four-spa-bathroom home is just as breathtaking as its views with white oak stairs and a kitchen featuring caesarstone countertops and floor-to-ceiling glass walls that open to the deck. As if the home itself isn't enough, you can also customize and program the window shades, just in case that ocean sunrise is a little too bright in the mornings.

If you're not yet convinced that this is the ultimate beach getaway, take a look at the photos ahead.

Trying to organize serving ware and cooking supplies in a normal-size kitchen is challenging, but trying to do it in a tiny kitchen can seem downright impossible. How to conquer such a monumental task and bring order and calm back into the heart of your home? Amelia Meena, T.J.Maxx and Marshalls Organizational Expert, has the answer! Check Amelia's 10 tips for maximizing space and organizing even the smallest of kitchens in her words below.

1. Think Through What You Need

"Kitchens are a workspace, and no one wants to feel cramped and cluttered while preparing meals. As a first step, I suggest clients think through the utensils/kitchen gadgets they use the most. It's important to think about how you use your kitchen (love to cook? more of a baker? or do you order in most of the time?), and then you'll have a better idea of what stays, what goes, and what gets put out of reach."

2. Make Everyday Essentials Easily Accessible

"Everyday essentials, should be readily accessible. For instance, pick one solid cutting board and lean it against the wall behind the faucet. To clear up counter space, add a towel rod to a wall by the sink to have your paper towels at the ready when cooking...

If you've noticed HGTV's Jonathan Scott seems to have an extra bounce in his step lately, there's a reason why: The Property Brothers star has a girlfriend. He's been dating the same woman for about a year and it seems pretty darn serious; she even spent the holidays with his family! I'm truly happy," Jonathan captioned a photo of the two of them on Instagram. And yes, this means that both Property Brothers are off the market. Drew Scott got engaged to longtime girlfriend Linda Phan at the end of 2016, and it seems Jonathan might be not be far behind.

We wanted to learn more about Jonathan's girlfriend, so we did a little digging. Check out everything we know below.

  • Her name is Jacinta Kuznetsov and she's gorgeous.
  • Jonathan met her at a charity event, but failed to get her info. He tried to find her, but no one knew who she was. "She was like a ghost. Nobody knew who she was," he told Chelsea Handler when appearing on her Netflix show in October 2016....
