1920s Wedding Style

1920sWedding02

1920s themed weddings are going to take 2013 by storm.

Very Gatsby.  Very Downton Abbey.  Very much I like!

This vintage wedding style has been listed on many sites as one of the top themes for the new year and I am smitten.  I’m hooked on Masterpiece Theater’s Downton Abbey, much thanks to Carrie, and adore the set styling and costume designs.  The wedding dresses worn in the series are the best!  The series is based on the earlier 1900′s but can easily be incorporated in the 1920′s style.

The Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books and I am really looking forward to the Leo remake.  I’ve stumbled across many a Great Gatsby inspired wedding shoots and each one impresses me.  This one shared on Green Wedding Shoes is my personal favorite.

The options for table displays are just as much fun as the style itself.  Using famous artists from the era or popular decor will make for a stunning and powerful design statement.  Soft color palettes are my fave and this theme calls for all things soft toned.

Any wedding that ties in classic styling is fabulous in my book.

I love all the glamor that a 1920s inspired event brings. Our engagement party theme was just that – had fancy boas for the ladies and I had a little bird cage veil. Loved it all! :)

I’m loving the 20s and 30s craze right now! My wedding will be more rustic, but my engagement ring is from the 30s, and my wedding band and cake topper are my great grandparents, who were married in the 30s. Vintage is a really romantic look, I’m LOVING the hairpiece you posted!

I absolutely love 1920s decor in weddings. It’s easy to go overboard with the theme, but I really love incorporating elements (especially fashion…I love 1920s fashion!). xoxoxo
