Vintage Crushing {Inspiration Board 39}

vintage crushing

Books. Containers. Vinyl.  Ad.

I attempt to make regular visits to Adjectives to get my vintage crushing fix.  A few things I currently can’t get enough of:

Vintage books.  I love books missing binders, faded pages, and hardback distressed covers.  The book cover tells a story in itself and as silly as it sounds I can’t help but think of all the people who read that book and where they were in time.  Plus, they make the best decor ever!  I have lots of books on display in my house and weddings that incorporate books tend to be a fave.

Vintage and retro kitchen containers.  Retro and vintage-ish kitchens have a look like non other and I’m totally into it.  These containers can be used for so much more too!  Converting them to craft containers sounds fun especially for those with labels removed or no longer clearly visable.

Vinyl record player and records.  Totally not a secret I heart music.  My husband and I spend less time watching t.v. and more time listening to music.  A record player is on my must have list and on my Birthday list.  I’ve been picking up records here and there in preperation.

Printed ads.  I’m hooked on Mad Men and all things marketing.  Looking through some of the ads makes me giggle and mostly makes me smile.  Life seemed so much more simplier then and ads were perky.  I recently came across an ad for a recipe and the sales target was brides and how to make meals for your man, super sweet.  I plan on framing my ad print purhcases and gifting them… they fit in someones kitchen perfectly!

What are you vintage and retro crush items?

    You know I love vintage books! I’ve got a ton of them sitting in my house waiting for me to find the right bookcase to put them in…there’s nothing cozier than being surrounded by books!

    {And I love the printed ad above…that’s from my part of the world!}

    Loving this inspiration board! And totally into the vintage books. I need to go check out Adjectives one of these days. I also love going to Mt. Dora in search of vintage goodies – always find a few things to take with me. :)
